Evalou Suddarth of Mitchell passed away Saturday morning, December 27, 2008, at Mitchell Manor at the age of 98.
Born in 1910 in Lawrence County, to Edward and Miriam Slaughter, Evalou graduated from Mitchel Highschool in 1930, and was a member of the First Christian Church in Mitchell.
She worked for Reliance Manufacturing, Trav-Ler Radio Corporation, and served many years on the Republican Election Board.
She is survived by her sister, Joanne, her sister in-laws, Ruth, Lucille. Margaret, and Mary, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, six brothers; Elbert, Wilbert, Roscoe, Samuel, and Edward, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Tuesday, December 30 in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home at 1:00pm with burial to follow at Talbott Cemetery. Visitation is Monday, 3:00pm to 7:00pm, and from 11:00am until the service on Tuesday at Chastain Funeral Home.
