Bruce A. Hewetson of Bedford passed away Tuesday at Dunn Memorial Hospital at the age of 57.
Born in 1951 in Bedford to Bruce and June Hewetson, Bruce was the editor of the Indiana Law Review while at the IU School of Law, was a partner at Donovan, Emery, Hewetson and Pittman, was Chief Deputy Prosecutor for Lawrence County, member of District #10 Pro Bono Committee, attorney for North Lawrence Schools, member and elder at Community Baptist Fellowship Church, member of Lawrence County Bar Association, Bedford Kiwanis Club, the boards of the Lawrence County Cancer Society, American Red Cross, and Thornton Memorial Boys Club, president of the Lawrence County Aquatics Swim Club, and past president of the Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce and Lawrence County Community Foundation.
He is survived by his mother, wife Julie, son Barron, daughter Anah, brother Don, sister Debra, and seven nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father.
Services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00am at the Community Baptist Fellowship Church with burial to follow at Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be from 1:00 until 8:00pm today and again from 9:00am until time of service tomorrow at the church.
