Edith Joan Masterson of Mitchell passed away Monday at the age of 82.
Born in 1925 in Spencer County to James and Eugenia Hayden, Edith retired as the director of Speedway Library and also worked at the Martinsville Library, Eastwood Junior High, Chastard High School and the Indiana State Library, and was a member of Jacob Finger United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and a volunteer with the Dunn Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by her children Jennifer, Julia, Janet, Jane, Phil, David, Susan, and Howard, 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many other extended family members.
She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband Allan, second husband Joe, and sons Christian and Andrew.
A memorial service will be held Saturday morning at 10:30am at the Jacob Finger United Methodist Church as cremation has been chosen.
