Merlin E. Mundy of Mitchell passed away Wednesday morning at Dunn Memorial Hospital at the age of 81.
Born in 1927 in Lawrence County to Claude and Daisy Mundy, Merlin was a retiree of Federal Civil Service in Heath, Ohio and member of Woodville Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Donna, sons Ed and David, brothers Max and Morris, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sons Jimmie and Michael and 1 grandson.
Services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:00pm at the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with burial to follow at Mitchell Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00pm tomorrow and again from noon until time of service Saturday at Chastain.
