Myra B. Maxwell of Bedford passed away Friday night at Dunn Memorial Hospital at the age of 85.
Born in 1922 in Rockport, Indiana to H.D. And Blanche Jackson, Myra was a homemaker and member and deaconess of First Christian Church in Bedford where she was also a Sunday school secretary and Lydia Circle president, a member and former president of the American Heart Association, Republican precinct committee person, member of Young Republicans, Church Women United, Lawrence County Faith Evdeavor and PTA president at Parkview Elementary.
She is survived by her son Jack, daughter Susan, sister Phyllis, 3 granddaughters, 1 great grandson, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband James, 1 brother, 1 sister and 1 granddaughter.
Services will be held tomorrow morning at 10:00am at First Christian Church with burial to follow at Owensburg Cemetery in Owensburg.
Visitation is tonight from 4:00 until 8:00pm at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home.
