Reba Mae Raines of Bedford passed away yesterday afternoon at her home at the age of 97.
Born in 1910 in Martin County to Noah and Martha Baker, Reba was a homemaker and member of House of Prayer Church in Fayetteville where she played piano for more than 60 years.
She is survived by her sons Wendell, Harold, Charles and Bill, daughters Martha, Geraldine, Elizabeth Lea, Sue, Betty, and Lorena, 34 grandchildren, and several great and great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Henry, brothers Dolphus, Millard and Willie, sisters Nellie and Nannie, son Donald, daughter Margaret, and grandson Douglas.
Services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:00pm at the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with burial to follow at House of Prayer Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 3:00 until 8:00pm and again Saturday from 11:00am until time of service at Day & Carter.
