John Gordon Hackney of Columbus passed away Sunday morning at his home at the age of 74.
Born in 1933 in Lawrence County to Noble and Frances Hackney, John was a mechanic at Holsum Bread Company.
He is survived by his daughters Joy, Jeanne and Jody, son Jon, brother Ned, sister Dora, 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Julie, 2 sisters and 1 brother.
A private graveside service was held this morning at Hilltop Cemetery in Avoca.
